After a shopping trip in Roppenheim in Alsace, we drive to the beautiful Renchtal valley in Oppenau and stay at the family-run Hotel Finken. On the garden terrace we enjoy the evening with a delicious dinner. In the further course of the tour we drive into the Black Forest National Park via Allerheiligen to Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach in the Wolftal valley.

Rosi robin experience path

Beautiful nature trail for children and families

Adventure trail Rosi Rotkehlchen in Oppenau

This morning we hike the Rosi Rotkehlchen adventure trail. It starts directly at the town hall of Oppenau. The path leads over a total of 3.3 km up the hill to the small plain. Partly the trail leads over gravel paths and long stretches over narrow, beautiful trails. At the top of the Kleinebene there is a large barbecue area, benches, a children's playground and another parking area for hikers. We enjoy the beautiful view on the way. On numerous boards we learn a lot of interesting facts about our bird world. A beautiful hiking trail for families with children, but also for us. You can find more information on the page of Renchtal Tourism.

The path is not suitable for baby carriages on long stretches.

All Saints Monastery Ruins& Waterfalls

After the hike, a few kilometers further on we reach the lower entrance to the Allerheiligen waterfalls. The Black Forest nature reserve also begins here. From the lower parking lot you can reach the waterfalls fastest. You can also park in the parking lot further up at the All Saints Monastery Ruins and walk down to the waterfalls.

There is a 3 km long legend trail from the monastery ruins over the waterfalls and over the sensational viewpoint Engelskanzel back again. There is a restaurant at the ruins.

Between the waterfalls and the ruins of the monastery is the viewpoint students rocks directly on the road. A short stop is worthwhile.

Schliffkopf circular trail

Then we drive up to the Schliffkopf on the Black Forest High Road B500.

The Schliffkopf circular trail has 3.5 kilometers from the hotel of the same name. For us the most beautiful viewpoint is at Steinmauerle. In the end we walked 5,4 km with beautiful views. We found the hike at Zuflucht and the Lothar trail last year only a few kilometers further more beautiful.

Over the Kniebis it goes then down to Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach. All in all it was 13.5 km that we walked today. The deserved refreshment is then in the restaurant Schlussel. Then we check into our special accommodation for the last G'stehr. Not really recommended, but the location to the Burgbach waterfall is perfect.

Hike Wolftal – The Klosterle Loop

Today we make the hike on the gourmet trail and premium hiking trail" Klosterle Loop" in the Wolftal valley. We start directly from our accommodation, which is located at the parking lot for hikers in front of Burgbach. The route is 8 km and has 395 meters of altitude on partly narrow and beautiful trails.

Hike Klosterle Loop in Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach

Again and again we have a beautiful view of Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach and the monastery.

After seven kilometers we reach the Burgbachfelsen with a shelter and a place to rest. Here it is worth to bring a snack and enjoy the view. Then we partly descend the rock wall to the Burgbach waterfall. The beautiful waterfall is with 15 meters one of the highest free falling waterfalls in Germany.

Shortcut to the Burgbach waterfall& Burgbach rock

It's only 800 meters if you take the shortest way from the parking lot at the hotel "Zum letzten G'Stehr" to the waterfall, another 200 meters up to the Burgbachfelsen with a fantastic view into the Wolftal valley. Below the waterfall there is a beverage fountain, so don't forget to bring some change.
